Conan's show on TBS is something else my trusty DVR keeps track of.

Feeling a little LOST

When LOST ended I felt a little empty. I loved all the nuances, profound meanings, symbols, mythology surrounding the show. I was one that was satisfied with the ending. I enjoyed the hope it symbolized for me.

All these many, many months after the fact, I am still missing the LOST characters.

So it's really no surprise that my DVR dutifully records:

V - Juliet (abc)
Lizard aliens, the fifth column, red rain, mining our DNA... what's not to like?


Hawaii 5-O - Jin (cbs)

Poor Jin - they don't give him much to do while the two white, male leads make eyes at each other. No, wait, they let Jin have a bomb strapped around his neck. Now that's drama. Fine, Caan can be funny...but he plays the same character in every thing he's in. Also, bring in Sun...she can guest star!


Mr. Sunshine - Chandler (because I love FRIENDS) and Hurley (abc)

I love Chandler, I always will - he was always my favorite Friend, but come on... give Hurley more to do! Hurley is funnier than that dumb, large kid they have interning.


Good Wife - I love this show already, but guess who guest starred? Miles! (cbs)

So weird hearing him speak with a Chinese accent. Also... kept waiting for him to speak to the dead. Miss his quirky character on LOST.


Fringe - I love this show and Hurley is coming to visit. (fox)
Can't wait to watch! Love Walter and Peter - such great actors and perfect chemistry.


Grey's Anatomy - I already watch this show, and I was thrilled when Rose guest starred. (abc)

Rose - always the calm, in control lady.


I'm hoping I get a glimpse of Sun, Sawyer, Locke, and Ben soon.

If you hear of any other LOST pop-ins - I'd love to know.

I would like to say it is unusual for me to be so entwined with a TV show, for pete's sake - but I'm still an avid FRIENDS fan/viewer. It's a habit I started when the show debuted at BYU, and well - it's fun.

I have been watching LOST since it's pilot. I would have never even considered the pilot if it wasn't for my brother. He's a fan of all things JJ. Abrams - and I am hooked as well.

LOST is one of few shows my hubby and I watch together. My hubby is more of a skeptic. I believe it brings him great joy to find holes in stories, inconsistencies... like so many others.

I'm the type that goes with the flow, if I find the characters, their stories, emotions matter to me. That's what I love about LOST. I loved getting to know the characters, their flaws, strengths and ability to change. Yes, when Jin and Sun went down in that submarine, my body was wracked with sobs.

Sure, I'd have liked to receive more answers about excess details - but I found the finale, the entire series perfectly delicious and satisfying. I imagine that in the end of my life, all the questions that might seem so important right now, might not matter at all when compared to my relationship with my little family. In terms of LOST what mattered to me was the simple symbolism, the journey of faith, trust, loyalty. I enjoyed how these characters struggled, worked, toiled, and then received peace.

One of the most resonant themes was when Jack in the first season said "we either learn to live together, or we'll die alone." The finale demonstrated how well they had learned to live together. They were able to be with the people they chose to care about most, and die (move on) together.

I think it's fascinating how time in the sideways world is not relevant. Time is very much a human condition. When there is no end to time, when eternity is difficult for our minds to fathom, it makes sense that time, the way we view it means nothing.

I loved the symbolism of sacrifice that rang throughout the series. I believe that all things denote there is a God. It always tickles me that even pop culture can't escape this simple fact.

Last night as I watched the finale with my hubby, I could not stop exclaiming... "I LOVE THIS SHOW!" each time a familiar face was awakened, united... or shared familiar one liners, nicknames, conversations... I just wanted to hug everyone.

I'm one of those people that enjoys symbolism, and meanings below the surface. It reminds me of parables. Those that are willing to hear it, will choose to. Those that are not willing, won't. That's what's great about reading and finding great shows like LOST - if you choose to allow something to enrich your life, you will find it. If you choose not to, you won't. So I don't begrudge those that dismiss the finale, or even choose not to watch the series, because we're all at different stages of life and enlightenment. Some of us will read a book and take it at face value. Others of us will be able to see brilliant rays of symbolism jumping out at us on a page, enriching our perspectives... after all life (LOST) is all about choices.

...I just wish Charlie, Desmond and Penelope were in that photo of the cast above. How great was it to see Charlie with Claire and Aaron again? Pretty great!

This is my wistful farewell to LOST. Loved the journey, it was beautiful.

Volleyball - Can ya dig it?

I love watching Olympic volleyball. I have loved playing volleyball. I am still a crappy overhead server - but I love beach and any kind of volleyball. I guess that's my excuse for wanting to walk around in my panties - ya know, in solidarity.

Loved the dances that were done again - everything felt light and beautiful.

Fun to see Mary and Nigel dance - you'll never see Simon sing on AI. That's why I love this show.

I absolutely adore Joshua and Katee. Gev I want to pinch like I pinch my baby's chub. Mark is freaky in a totally entertaining way. Will and Katee together is like watching perfection and art.

Twitch is fun. I loved seeing Dominic, Ryan and Hok. I wish we could've seen all the winners of SYTYCD. They gave far too little time to people from the past...and were missing a lot of people I'd like to know about.

What is the deal with the Jonas Brothers? Anyone? I.DON'T.GET.IT. They are awful. Why do tweens have such bad taste?

I wasn't happy that the arrogant popper was trumpted as the winner of the popping contest. Mia was the only judge I agreed with on that particular decision.

I like Lil'C's commentaries. I miss Shane Sparks. What happened to Dan?

Wade is a magician... a crazy, freaky, can't take my eyes off his creations magician. I want to see his show in Vegas.

Nigel always talks about how this show is legitimizing or highlighting dance for the world. Well - then put your money where your mouth is Nigel - 50 grand? 250 grand... really... that's PIDDLY compared to what you're making on this show and only continues the disparity between singers and dancers. Enough with the... "well that's a dancer's life" ... if you really want to make it change... show us.

*sigh* I'm going to miss my dance fix. Seriously... this show is far more entertaining, talented than any AI show.
