Wish I could be disgruntled/gruntled like La Yen

La Yen posted this today.

I will be lazy and just say AMEN sistah.

La Yen is one of those women who I totally respect and admire. She often posts introspective posts that hit me to the core of my spirit. She is also very smart, witty and charming. Plus - she's an army wife... which makes her a saint.

It's impossible not to love her. Impossible.

And yet, there are so many people in my ward who disagree with you...

Thanks!

Then I can only hypothesize that they are ...insane.

Very nice post. "Ashamed to be Mormon?" Is that like the people in Lehi's dream who were ashamed when the people in the great and spacious building were laughing at them? So they let go of the iron rod? I'm not saying it's a tough issue. My husband has a brother and a sister who are gay. A couple years ago his brother had a "wedding" (not recognized legally) with his significant other. It was a hard issue for my husband to get involved in at first. But we talked about it and agreed that when the prophet speaks, we step up and respond. Our view is limited of what the consequences will be if Prop 8 doesn't pass. It makes me sad to hear people talk like that.

Sorry, that should say "I'm not say it's NOT a tough issue." It's late. I've stayed up too late too many nights sewing halloween costumes. You get the drift. :-)

Holli - I agree - it's sad.

...and I can't wait to see your costumes.

"Whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants - it is the same." That's the scripture (or pretty close) - right? When the prophet speaks we should probably listen and support. I figure he probably knows a lot more than I do about where this all is headed. I so admire your courage. And I think we're just seeing the beginning... so the world will need all the good, courageous people it can get!
